Due to planned strike action on Thursday, 10 July 2014, most council services across Sefton will be affected.
The strike is not against Sefton Council and relates to a national public sector pay dispute.
Critical services such as adult and children’s social care will also continue to operate during the strike day.Grey and brown bin collections scheduled for Thursday, 10 July, will not take place, but the weekly green box and food waste service will operate as normal.
In areas where the Thursday grey bin collection is missed it is intended to collect these bins on Saturday, 12 July. If not collected on the Saturday, residents are asked to leave them out for collection on Sunday, 13 July.
In isolated areas this may mean green bins are not collected on Saturday (12 July), but these should also be left out for a catch-up collection on Sunday (13 July.)
In areas with refuse sacks, the catch-up collections will take place on Friday, 11 July and Saturday, 12 July.
Unfortunately it will not be possible to catch up on brown bin collections from Thursday, 10 July, until the next scheduled collection on Thursday, 24 July.
Schools may also be affected but parents and carers should await information directly from the individual school.
