I am attending this week the 2014, Association of Port Health Authorities(APHA) conference held in The House of Commons and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health HQ in Central London.
At the House of Commons on Monday, Crosby resident, Professor Tom Solomon gave the conference a frightening but also re-assuring presentation on “The Threat to the Uk from Emerging Infections”. In attendance were Derek Twigg MP and, Jacob Rees Mogg MP.

AS shown in the photographs below (taken by Carl Davies) the outdoor gym equipment in Coronation Park was vandalised last week. The broken piece has now been removed for repair. “It’s a shame that some idiot would want to ruin the much-used equipment. I just hope there is enough money available to pay for the repair of the device”
Great Crosby Catholic Primary School on The Northern Road, has applied for Planning Permission as follows ( DC/2014/01386 ) Erection of single storey extensions to the front, side and rear of the school including internal and external remodelling and refurbishment works.
We will talk to Highways Officers and the School and the Diocese. I am a Governor at the School and on the Planning Committee, as is Cllr Jan Grace, so Cllr Les Byrom will call this in. It would then be decided by the Sefton Council Planning Committee. We are aware that there are already, considerable issues with local street parking at pick-up and drop-off times, this inevitably, would exacerbate the current situation.
Being a Governor at the school I will not be able to take part in the debate or vote on this matter. This is due to current Government guidance on probity.
