Musker Street, planning application, 29 houses
Yet another major planning application in Victoria Ward. The former Asian food packaging plant on Musker Street L23 0UB. DC/2014/01124. This is for 29 new dwellings with access via the new Bellway/ Hawthorn Estate and the Northern Road. The plan includes a shared surface scheme which is contrary to the unanimously resolved views of the members of Sefton Council. If the scheme were to be approved then I will be asking that a conventional 60mm raised paving scheme is included on at least one side of the street to enable safe access Children, blind, disabled people with special needs and older people. The photo shows a typically failed shared surface scheme in the adjacent Bellway site.
Musker Street, Demolition of food factory
The former Musker St, “Chinese Chef Foods” plant owner is at present demolishing the old building following safe removal of Asbestos. The permission order is S/2012/0940 .
The order was granted in August 2012 and has been renewed this year.
No application for development has yet been received although did see a plan for the site some years ago which described a small housing development.
